JACK

My patience was wearing thin as I stood face-to-face with Nathan, the tension in the room palpable. Liam’s presence only added to the unease, his eyes darting between us as if he were ready to intervene at any moment.

“What the hell, Nathan?” I snapped, my anger simmering just beneath the surface.

Nathan’s expression remained calm and collected, his nonchalant demeanor only fueling my frustration. “What’s got your panties in a twist now, Jack?”

“You know damn well what I’m talking about,” I shot back, my voice low and dangerous.

Liam shifted uncomfortably, sensing the tension in the room. “Guys, maybe we should—”

“No, Liam, stay out of it,” I interrupted, my gaze never leaving Nathan’s.

Nathan leaned against the wall, crossing his arms as he studied me with a smirk. “You mean that little secret relationship of yours? Or are you talking about something else I should know?”

I clenched my fists at my sides, my nails digging into my palms as I struggled to control my temper. “Cut the shit, Nathan. You had a hand in all of this, didn’t you?”

Nathan shrugged, his expression unapologetic. “So what if I did? Someone had to knock some sense into you.”

I took a step closer, my voice dripping with anger. “You had no right to interfere. You had no right to manipulate me or Jules like that.”

Nathan’s chuckle was mocking, his eyes glinting with amusement. “Oh, come on, Jack. She needed a reality check. And let’s be real, you weren’t exactly thinking straight.”

I felt a surge of anger, my control slipping as Nathan’s words cut deep. “Watch what you say about her, Nathan.”

Nathan’s grin widened, his taunting tone pushing me closer to the edge. “What, the sweet, innocent Jules? Oh, I’m sorry, I meant the cunning little hussy.”

That was the last straw. My fist connected with Nathan’s jaw in a swift, powerful punch. The impact reverberated through my hand, and for a moment, I saw surprise flash across Nathan’s face before it contorted into anger.

“Your mother—”

Before he could finish his sentence, we grappled with each other, fists flying as we engaged in a heated fistfight. I could feel the heat of my anger fueling every punch and blow as I let loose years of frustration and animosity.

Liam’s voice sounded distant, his shouts for us to stop barely registering as I continued to pummel Nathan. My vision was clouded with rage, my thoughts consumed by the need to finally put Nathan in his place. Nathan’s face was a mess of blood and bruises, a testament to the punch I had landed square on his jaw. He glared at me, his bleeding lips twisted into a sneer that only fueled my anger.

“You think you’re tough, Jack?” he spat, his voice laced with venom.

I took a step closer, my fists still clenched at my sides. “I think you needed to be taught a lesson.”

Nathan wiped his mouth, smearing blood across his skin. “Oh, what a hero you are, defending the poor, innocent Jules.”

My patience was wearing thin, my control slipping as his taunts continued to push my buttons.
